Hempcrete, or hemp hurd + lime is a eco-friendly low embodied carbon building material which provides a plant-based thermal insulation.

Actively sequesters CO2 during its curing process while additionally absorbing and offsetting CO2 during the hemp plant's growth cycle.

    Hempcrete is a building material that requires intensive preparation and planning. This is best undertaken with coordination between architects, structural engineers and contractors. HEMPALTA recommends hempcrete projects be undertaken by professionals.

  • INSTALLATION TIP

    Installing hempcrete is based on planning, framing, accurate mixing, and tamping the mixed materials in place. Hempcrete is a climate sensitive material. Protect hempcrete from direct sunlight during the curing process to avoid drying too quickly.
